Colorado Blue Spruce
One of our more popular trees is the Colorado Blue Spruce. The Colorado Blue Spruce, once it has adapted to its new location, proves to be a beautiful, low maintenance tree. People often use the Colorado Blue Spruce for Christmas trees or as ornamentals for their larger yards or farms. This tree typically grows 65-115 feet tall with a diameter of approximately 10 feet. Because of its size, the Colorado Blue Spruce makes a great windbreak. Unlike some spruce, the Colorado Blue has short, stiff, and sharp needles that form more of a square than ovular shape. The blue tinted needles become spectacularly eye-catching in the right sunlight.
Vanderwolf Pine
For more decorative purposes, we grow the Vanderwolf, also known as the Vanderwolf's Pyramid. The Vanderwolf matures to a height of 15-20 feet and a width of 6-10 feet. The Vanderwolf grows into a more distinct pyramid shape which makes it perfect for an ornamental piece in landscaping. Unlike the Colorado Blue Spruce, the Vanderwolf has long, soft, and oval-shaped needles that grow on flexible branches. This species of tree also sports an interesting coloration in its needles, being two-toned with a white streak in the middle of the blue.
